Dusty is the cutest - She is on the small side. She is shy, but friendly. Female and already spayed! Estimated at about 1.5 years old, so she is full grown.

Sometimes she gets a little sniffles. She has seen a vet, and they said that it is common in breeds like this due to their "pug" nose. She has had medication in the past to clear up her "bunny cold." She would need medication again if she got the sniffles again and it did not clear-up on its own. At the most this would be a few times per year, and medicine is $35.

Must Read: Rabbit Information & Care

This blog post gives you some basic ideas of having a rabbit (or two!) in your family!
LIVING QUARTERS: Rabbits should live inside your house with you, as part of the family. Rabbits should never be kept in a small hutch, and most cages are too small for a rabbit to live in. Keep in mind that rabbits need just as much exercise as a cat or dog and must have room to run around. Some rabbits live free in the house. The house must be rabbit proofed, meaning all cords are covered or out of reach, no poisonous plants, no animals or children that can harm them and no way to get out. Some live in a rabbit proofed room, and some live in an exercise pen and are let out for exercise in a rabbit proofed room or house. Keep in mind that the smallest space a rabbit can live in is 4ftx4ft square. Small rabbits need just as much room to run around as large rabbits do.

Litterbox: Rabbits will easily train themselves to use a litter box. Just provide a large litter box with rabbit safe litter, such as Carefresh and pile hay on top. Rabbits like to graze and poop at the same time so keeping hay in the litter box gets them to use it and to eat more hay.

PROPER DIET: A rabbit's diet should be made up of unlimited grass type hay, fresh veggies and limited pellets. Only healthy treats should be fed. It is a good idea to split the veggies and pellet rations into two feedings, morning and evening. Hay must be available at all times.

One or Two Rabbits: Rabbits are social animals, and in most cases having two rabbits is better than one! However, rabbits need to get to know each other, and will sometimes fight if they aren't introduced correctly. Let us know if you can adopt two rabbits, and we can help bond two rabbits for you!

Rescued Rabbits for Adoption

In Southern CA there is an animal lover who has devoted their life to rescuing rabbits from shelters and abuse. Their space, money and passion have all been spent on helping animals. Now, they are tired and needs some relief. This is currently an emergency situation.

They currently have over 40 rabbits. We are looking to find adoptive and foster homes for some of the rabbits. They make great pets, and are fun to have in your home. Most are fixed and in good health. They have exotic and cute, young and old. Lots of babies. Many are litter box trained.

Please keep in mind that rabbits are social animals, and most should be adopted in pairs. In addition, they do need exercise and living in a hutch/cage is not ideal.
If you do not have room in your home, please consider posting about these critters on your facebook page or volunteering to help us help these bunnies! If you can help adopt/foster/volunteer, please email me at aberns@hotmail.com or call Joseline at 818-972-9337. Transportation is available to most places in Southern CA, or you can pick-up off of the 210 in the San Gabril Valley. Thanks!
